For Webforge, the offline HTML & CSS reference for Android
Webforge collects nothing about you. There is no account, no advertising, no analytics, no crash reporting and nothing to buy; the app requests no Android permissions and never opens a network connection. Everything below explains what that means in practice.
Webforge is made and published by Rekilo Limited, a company registered in England and Wales, which releases its apps under the name Snippetlab. Where data protection law refers to a data controller, that company is it — although there is very little to control, because the app gathers nothing.

The playground saves what you write so you can come back to it. Those files — the HTML and CSS of any example you have edited, anything you built from a blank canvas, and the names you gave them — are written into the app's own private storage on your device and are never uploaded, never shared and never seen by us. There is no cloud copy, no backup service and no sync, so nothing you type in Webforge leaves the phone unless you copy it out yourself.
Alongside your experiments, the app stores ordinary state: which entries you have bookmarked, your position in the library, recent searches, and settings such as theme and font size. None of it identifies you.
No advertising library, so no adverts and no advertising profile. No analytics library and no crash reporter, so no usage events, session logs or crash traces are gathered or transmitted — we do not know which properties you looked up or how long you spent in the app. No billing library, so nothing can be bought and no payment data exists. No account system, so no name, email address or password is ever asked for.
Webforge also requests no Android runtime permissions at all: not camera, microphone, location, contacts, storage or notifications. The rendered previews run in a local WebView that loads only the code held on the device; it has no internet access and cannot fetch remote scripts, fonts or images.
None. The whole library, every example and the cheat sheet are compiled into the download, so the app opens no connection to our servers or anyone else's and behaves identically in aeroplane mode. Because nothing is sent, nothing can be intercepted; because nothing is received, no behaviour can be switched on remotely after you install it.
Google, because Webforge is distributed through Google Play. When you install or update the app, Google processes that under its own privacy policy and its own agreement with you. What reaches us is the aggregated, anonymous figures shown in the developer console — install counts, ratings, country totals — which cannot be traced back to an individual user.
If a future version of Webforge ever includes anything that touches the network, this page will be rewritten before that version is published, and the change will be described plainly rather than added quietly.
Webforge is a learning tool suitable for a general audience, including students. Because it collects no personal data from anyone, it collects none from children either, and there is nothing in it — no adverts, no chat, no sharing, no outbound links, nothing to buy — through which a child could send information anywhere or spend money.
If you are a parent, guardian or teacher and something appears to behave differently from what is described here, please write to us and we will look into it straight away.
Under the UK GDPR, and under the EU GDPR where it applies to you, you have rights to access, correct, erase and port the personal data a company holds about you, and to complain to a supervisory authority. Those rights need data to act on, and Webforge holds none, so there is nothing for us to send, correct or delete on your behalf. If you would like that confirmed in writing for your own records, ask and we will send it.
Your saved experiments are under your control alone. Delete them individually inside the app, clear the app's data in Android settings to remove everything at once, or uninstall Webforge — the files go with it. None of that needs our involvement, and no copy is left behind, because no copy was ever made.
Complaints can go to the UK Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk, though we would rather you wrote to us first so we can explain or fix whatever prompted it.
This page is updated only when the app changes in a way that affects privacy, and the date near the top changes with it. Builds you have already installed keep behaving exactly as they do today.
